ASPECTS:How is the ASPECTS assessment carried out?
Posted by Chris Jellis on 07 June 2011 03:33 PM

The assessment is carried out on a one-to-one basis with the child.

It is based on a fun and interesting story.

As the story progresses, the child is asked a number of questions and the adult marks each question right or wrong.

The questions cover early reading, early maths and phonological awareness.

There are also optional assessments of motor development, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

Children are assessed when they start in the nursery and again just before they leave, providing valuable information about their progress whilst in the nursery.
