PIPS:I have standardised scores from a different assessment where the mean is 100 and the standard deviation is 15, how can I convert between the two assessments?

PIPS uses standardised scores with a mean of 50 and a standard deviation of 10.

To convert them to a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15:

Multiply by 1.5  (this will adjust for the standard deviation)

Add 25 (this maps to the required mean)

A worked example:

A PIPS score of 50 should map to a score of 100

50 x 1.5 = 75 + 25 = 100

A PIPS score of 60 should map to 115

60 x 1.5 = 90 + 25 = 115
