PIPS:What is the PIPS Baseline?
Posted by Chris Jellis on 15 June 2011 03:28 PM

The PIPS Baseline is designed to assess pupils in the Reception year.

Pupils are assessed as soon as they start in Reception.

A pupil report can be printed out for each pupil showing what questions were asked and the pupil responses.

On receipt of the data at CEM, further feedback is produced.

The feedback provides information about pupil ability in reading, maths and phonological awareness compared with national standards.

Pupils are assessed again at the end of their time in Reception.

Once the follow-up data are received at CEM, further feedback is produced.

This feedback provides progress information in reading and maths compared with national standards.
