The most likely reason that a pupil has a missing score is that there was an issue with the section.
The possible reasons for issues are -
- There were too few questions attempted by the pupil for the system to be able to generate a score. The pupil might have skipped too many questions, answered too few questions or the time taken to answer each question was too long, resulting in the assessment ‘timing out’.
- The time taken to answer the questions was too short. Our system identifies when a pupil has taken a very short time to answer a question, the most likely reason for this is that the pupil has guessed the answer instead of making genuine attempts to answer the question properly.
- The pupil has a long run of incorrect answers and may have lost confidence. If a pupil answers a question incorrectly the following question will get easier. However if a series of questions have been answered incorrectly the pupil may have stopped trying. Before the pupil attempts the test again you may want to offer him/her some reassurance and support.
